Uptown Memorial Park Trail & Bridge Project

Uptown Houston

The Uptown Memorial Park Trail and Bridge project is an exciting new project designed to enhance the connectivity and accessibility of Uptown Houston and Memorial Park. This project will create a shared-use path for pedestrians and cyclists, featuring a stunning 350-foot suspension bridge across Buffalo Bayou, and an additional 156-foot truss bridge.

A new entrance to Memorial Park from the south will be established, along with a pedestrian underpass beneath the West Loop bridge. These new pathways will link the following destinations:

  • Post Oak Boulevard walkways to the Silver Line;
  • Houston Arboretum and Nature Center’s West Loop entrance;
  • Existing Memorial Park bike path along Woodway;
  • North Post Oak Lane Trails; and,
  • Northwest Transit Center

The project aims to create a beautiful, scenic, and safe environment for pedestrians and bike riders traveling between Uptown and Memorial Park, during the day or at night. By adding to the active urban lifestyle so many people desire today, it will create easy access to the park for thousands of Uptown residents and visitors. It promises to be a vibrant addition to the community, promoting healthy, physical activity, exercise, and recreation in a beautiful and natural setting.
