Born and raised in Houston, Tina Ozcelik always dreamed of owning her own store. At the time, the fantasy store was a flower shop. Today, she still calls Houston home and is living her dream as the owner of two locations of The Eye Gallery, one of the chicest eyewear retailers in the city. As a professional, Tina preferred the business side of eyewear – the buying process and interacting with customers to find the best frames. After college, it was her years of working in the retail industry that got her in the door of her first eyewear store. She worked her way up and learned all aspects of the industry. Later, she was a buyer for eyewear collections and learned more about the finer aspects of the trade, including the luxury niche.

Tina grew up on the west side of Houston in the Energy Corridor, attending Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart and Lee High School her junior and senior year. She later graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Biology & Physical Science. As a sophomore in college, her father – a Type 1 Diabetic – started losing his eyesight and ultimately required a corneal replacement. Tina was by his side throughout this time, and it was this experience that ignited a passion and directed her career path toward the optics industry. n 2008, Tina spotted a new, ultra-modern retail building on Westheimer. She followed up with the owner and started living her dream – opening her first location of The Eye Gallery on December 22, 2008. She mixes high-fashion with function and relishes the one-on-one interaction with clients to help them look their best – and see! Since 2008, The Eye Gallery has two locations in Houston – the original in River Oaks, and the newest store on Post Oak Boulevard.
