Uptown Holiday Lighting Returns to Post Oak Boulevard

The iconic Houston family tradition, the 34th Annual Uptown Holiday Lighting, will take place on Thanksgiving evening, Nov. 24th, 2022. The holiday season will officially begin with the illumination of 300 custom, 20-ft. holiday trees along Post Oak Boulevard from the West Loop to Richmond Avenue.

This FREE family event features festive holiday shopping and treats, unique street entertainment and the sights and sounds of the holiday season, along with a special appearance from Santa.

Following the ceremonial lighting of the holiday trees, the evening will culminate with a dazzling light show followed by an exhilarating fireworks extravaganza.

Enjoy a festive atmosphere with holiday music, shopping and treats, unique street entertainment, and the sights and sounds of the holiday season.

6:30 p.m. Hilton Post Oak Balcony Decorating Contest

As the winners of the Balcony Contest are announced, festive search lights will shine on the three favorite decorated balconies.

7 p.m. Dazzling Light Show and Firework Extravaganza

Welcome Santa for a countdown to light up Uptown for the holidays! The evening will culminate with a dazzling tree light show and fireworks extravaganza, illuminating Houston from the sidewalks to the sky.
